How to leave a gift in your Will 

Making or changing your Will to include a gift to San Foundation can be as simple as contacting your solicitor who will ensure your wishes are captured correctly in a legally binding manner. 

You may like to begin by considering where you would like your gift to go. For example: 

          •  Area of most need. 

          •  A specific area of the hospital that is important to you eg. Research, Technology, Education or Facilities. 

          •  A specific area of interest eg. Neurology, Cancer, Heart, Orthopaedics or Maternity.

Types of Gifts 

There are many ways to make an incredible and lasting contribution through your legacy:

RESIDUAL GIFT The remainder of your estate after all gifts of money and specific items have been distributed. 

PERCENTAGE GIFT A percentage of your whole estate or a percentage of the residuary once gifts and other costs have been deducted. 

PECUNIARY GIFT A gift of a specific sum of money. 

A SPECIFIC ASSET A specific piece of real estate or shares.

Correct Wording - For gifts in Wills 

It’s important that San Foundation is correctly named in your Will to ensure you wishes can be met. All your solicitor needs are our ABN 53 320 740 321 and our registered name San Foundation. 

You may give this wording to your solicitor when preparing your Will. 

“I give to San Foundation, ABN 53 320 740 321. 

• The residue of my estate (or _ % of the residue of my estate) or 

• The whole of my estate (or _% of my estate) 

• The sum of $_ 

• Asset or assets for example shares or property 

Free of all duties and taxes, for which the receipt of the authorised officer shall be an absolute discharge.”
